Memphis Teacher Residency (MTR) is a teacher recruitment and training program that partners with, but is external to, SCS. Ms. Garrison was responsible for the grant’s annual performance report (APR) and annual comprehensive evaluations. These evaluations measured program impact by assessing performance of MTR-trained teachers against that of their non-MTR counterparts with similar years of experience. Measures of MTR’s effectiveness have included teacher retention, value-added assessment data, classroom observations, students’ perceptions of their teachers, and teachers’ scores on a professionalism portfolio.
